I was the OP on this, I wanted memtest86+ to test RAM on a box I was/am 
building. I eventually went to the memtest86 (*not* +) website & 
downloaded an image, dd'ed it to a flash drive & am off to the races 
testing RAM. I don't know why UBCD doesn't just provide a bootable image 
for flash drives, seems easy enough to do, tons of other sites do it, so 
who knows .... Anyway, I got what I was after, so this is moot for me ....
