mSATA is still SATA, they just made the attachment interface/plug much
smaller so that you didn't have to use the full-sized SATA connector in a
very small chassis. Here is a good picture comparing them.

mSATA is mini-SATA and is designed specifically for Flash/RAM devices, not
for archaic, 20th century spinny-things.
